Over 7000 applicants turned down by the University of Cape Coast

Over 7000 applicants who has the dream of enrolling at the University of Cape Coast have been turned down.

This was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the university.. Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah a the matriculation ceremony of the university.

There are claims that the reason for the denial of admission could be due to the lack of infrastructure to contain the students while others believe it is mainly due to the inability of these students to meet the target of the university in terms of grades.

Out of the total 13,188 applications made up of 12,240 undergraduates and 948 post-graduates received, only 5,785 were admitted by the University.

According to Prof. Ghartey Ampiah the process of admission into the University was tough and highly competitive thus urged matriculants to learn hard to consolidate their stay on campus.
